Disclaimer: Firstly don't expect an intelligent argument for or against the nuke deal
This topic is something which irritates me the most... I fully support the Govt. to go through with this deal.. not becoz i have a great understanding of the Nuclear deal..nor am i a great supporter of Congress.. but simply becoz of the fact that i get damn irritated with the CPM people.. By god,.. all i have seen them do since childhood is oppose everything thats proposed but will they ever try and do something..??? Nope thats never gonna happen... becoz there are the perennial cribbers.. the exact species i have the greatest aversion towards !!!!
I just hope this deal goes thru in the face of their oppositions.. just for the sheer sense of satisfaction of seeing someone really asking them to get lost with nonsense ideologies...

IT Job Vs Manufacturing Job part 2
But 2.5 yrs later i am in Infosys... I dont have any regrets about either joining hero honda or leaving it to join infy...
people see things in different manners... How could you leave a Manufacturing Job to join an IT company... I never get the logic of people saying that... IT jobs are repetitive... boring.. nothing much to do...
Hey people wake up an look around there are no such jobs which bring excitement and new things every single day!!!
I worked in manufacturing.. its the same as IT.. nobody does any ground breaking work with extreme use of intelligence every single day.. its a process industry which means people have to follow certain rules and company will function properly... you end up doing 10 meetings a day.. feel all important as you spend the day brainstorming abt issues.. but are you really doing productive work every day?? are you adding to cash registers of the company ??? Not really huh.. at least not everyday... but ya you repeat what you do for a long period of time.. then you are able to effect some change... there is not short cut to achieve improvements in manufacturing...
Now take IT ... I am not saying its ground breaking stuff .. what i am saying is that its the same kind of work... you think.. you work as a team.. sort out problems... and at the end of it.. you have results to show for it...
Its really silly to belittle any work.. i won't agree to anyone who says that manufacturing company is not good place to work.. similarly IT job is nothing lowly to it.. both involves the same basic rules....
coming back to me... well me joined infy..plain and simple.. i was fed up with the place- Gurgaon...period.
for me the basic premises of an ideal job were: Nice work environment (read AC office ;) ), good work culture and a job that gives me an oppurtunity to use my brain... I don't mean Nobel prize earning thinking.. but ya adequate amount of Grey cell usage.... In bothg the companies (both sectors ) i have worked i was lucky enough find what i looked for in a job...
As a very smart person once said... "A JOB IS A JOB IS A JOB"

IT Job Vs Manufacturing Job part 1
When i was younger (lets say 18) i always had the feeling that It was the best profession from me . I always wondered as to why it was so...
at that point in my life there were two places of work that i had seen..
One was the Bhilai Steel Plant.. the mega manufacturing set up where people (read engineers) worked in extreme almost in human conditions, which gave me a constant feeling of restlessness that i might have to end up working in a place like this...
Even as a kid i was more interested in the kind of work place i wanted to be in (later on i learnt abt the jargons of working environment, work culture and all the other nonsense which came to me as a package with my mba degree..!!) but ya i was always awed by the sheer scale of BSP , but didnt really aspire to work there...
The other was bank (wer my mom worked) .. Now that was one thing that really interested me from my childhood.. i used to look forward to my visits to the bank to pick mom home from there... I don't know when the interest for that waned becoz even during my engineering i was considering banking as an option more than an Engineering job... but somehow i didn't clear the bank PO test so that option was tossed out..
This was probably the time i was realizing that IT would be an ideal industry for me.. but these silly companies won't select me !!!!! Now i thought let do an MBA .. not to broaden my job prospects but to find a way to the elusive IT Job :) ...
well mba didnt teach me much except that i got a little more understanding regarding my career... even though me getting into Hero Honda was unexpected as i was desperate to get an IT job !!! anyways i think that was the best thing that had happened to me till now ... I saw that a manufacturing company needn't be a sweat shop (i mean i don't keep sweating due to the heat around :D ) . Fantastic environment to work in.. in a real business ,as the kidlams (its a mallu word for hotshots) i came in contact say !!

Shahrukh popular than Tom Cruise ????
http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/articleshow/2663555.cms
Now you read a news like this and you feel shocked..." how is it possible' !!!!
considering that there are 0.1 bn English speaking population in India and rest wont even know about Tom Cruise let alone he be popular among them. So while Tom has just 0.1bn out of 1bn Indian population SRK has a huge base of 1bn in india itself.
Then you have all the south east Asian countries who would know SRK . but TC.. i don't think so.. add to that the india diaspora spread across the world.... you have a pretty big number of srk fans...!!
But you need to give credit where its due. Undoubtedly SRK has worked a lot on marketing himself on every possible stage... He goes to cricket world cups.. waves around.. shown on camera with more than 2 bn people watching all over the world.. u are deemed to be popular.. He does so many stage shows in Dubai.. London..Singapore...US.!! u can't deny the fact that the guy has worked a lot on marketing himself and his image all over the world and probably that does make him special to able to attract such a big number.
Well.. let him be the Biggest Star of Indian Cinema (if not the best actor :P )

Narendra Modi... unmasked
http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/Unmasking_Modi_A_loner_even_at_the_top/articleshow/2663033.cms
You read the above post in the "Times of india" and anyone will feel awed of the Gujrat CM. I am no big fan of Mr Modi but this article just changes my views towards him from total disregard to certain sense of acknowledgement that this person does have some in-born talents for creativity, acting, poetry technology and management..!!
It also made me aware of the power of media - just one page in times of india and i am forced to rethink about someone widely regarded as being resposible for the gujrat riots !! Makes me wonder about the role of media in projecting Mr Modi as the symbol of hindu fanaticism. The writer of the artcles "Prashant Dayal and Radha Sharma" do strike a chord on those who wonder about how Modi manages to win in gujrat and remains the undisputed leader.
A full page article - which comes in the face of BJPs victory in Gujrat- and which highlights the positives of Mr Modi .. smells fishy.. or maybe i am just being paranoid .

Anti Ballistic Missile system
The first time i heard about it from my friend i didn't really believe it... But yeah India has anti missile system in place.. One of the 4 countries in the world..!! now thats some achievement.. It will cost us some 2500 crores... but what to do.. we have such super nice neighbours that this is a small price to pay...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anti-ballistic_missile#India
well it feels good that we have some really bright people in right places like DRDO who have the drive and brains to develop such sophisticated system... Sometimes i get a feeling they are not recognised appropriately.
Anyways it feels good to have atleast some protection when we have a neighbour which has not signed the first strike policy.
As a defence personnel said " If Pakisthan goes nuclear against us it will be detected within 30 seconds of launched and destryed 40km above the ground and after that Pakisthan wont remain a country worth living .. for the next decade" !!!!
Which is not a very happy thought but atleast that will serve as a deterent to any country going against us....

Finally... a blog by me :)
Its been quite a while since the thought of starting my own blog crossed my mind.. and after months of laziness and lack of inspiration, here i am on a sunday- which is a working day , posting for the first time.
So while i was sitting in my bus..( which now ridiculously comes at 745am... and lands me in the office at 840 am when the actual time for office is 9am..!! ) i am deep in thought without listening to my daily dose of radio... trying to decide the name for my blog and i can't help it but i really have a big influence of F.R.I.E.N.D.S on my life so its obvious that the blog name is dedicated to "Joey" -those who dont know abt it-> Joey acts in a show "Days of our life" ..
The feeling is pretty weird.. it feels like i am speaking to a whole lot of people all over the world.. people i know..people i don't.. even though i know for a fact that hardly anyone is gonna read these postings :D. High hopes huh..
So from now on all things that influence me are going on this.... well today is 23rd December and here i go to new experience of blogging..!!!!
