But 2.5 yrs later i am in Infosys... I dont have any regrets about either joining hero honda or leaving it to join infy...
people see things in different manners... How could you leave a Manufacturing Job to join an IT company... I never get the logic of people saying that... IT jobs are repetitive... boring.. nothing much to do...
Hey people wake up an look around there are no such jobs which bring excitement and new things every single day!!!
I worked in manufacturing.. its the same as IT.. nobody does any ground breaking work with extreme use of intelligence every single day.. its a process industry which means people have to follow certain rules and company will function properly... you end up doing 10 meetings a day.. feel all important as you spend the day brainstorming abt issues.. but are you really doing productive work every day?? are you adding to cash registers of the company ??? Not really huh.. at least not everyday... but ya you repeat what you do for a long period of time.. then you are able to effect some change... there is not short cut to achieve improvements in manufacturing...
Now take IT ... I am not saying its ground breaking stuff .. what i am saying is that its the same kind of work... you think.. you work as a team.. sort out problems... and at the end of it.. you have results to show for it...
Its really silly to belittle any work.. i won't agree to anyone who says that manufacturing company is not good place to work.. similarly IT job is nothing lowly to it.. both involves the same basic rules....
coming back to me... well me joined infy..plain and simple.. i was fed up with the place- Gurgaon...period.
for me the basic premises of an ideal job were: Nice work environment (read AC office ;) ), good work culture and a job that gives me an oppurtunity to use my brain... I don't mean Nobel prize earning thinking.. but ya adequate amount of Grey cell usage.... In bothg the companies (both sectors ) i have worked i was lucky enough find what i looked for in a job...
As a very smart person once said... "A JOB IS A JOB IS A JOB"
