Nuclear Deal Vs CPM

Disclaimer: Firstly don't expect an intelligent argument for or against the nuke deal

This topic is something which irritates me the most... I fully support the Govt. to go through with this deal.. not becoz i have a great understanding of the Nuclear deal..nor am i a great supporter of Congress.. but simply becoz of the fact that i get damn irritated with the CPM people.. By god,.. all i have seen them do since childhood is oppose everything thats proposed but will they ever try and do something..??? Nope thats never gonna happen... becoz there are the perennial cribbers.. the exact species i have the greatest aversion towards !!!!

I just hope this deal goes thru in the face of their oppositions.. just for the sheer sense of satisfaction of seeing someone really asking them to get lost with nonsense ideologies...

IT Job Vs Manufacturing Job part 2

But 2.5 yrs later i am in Infosys... I dont have any regrets about either joining hero honda or leaving it to join infy...

people see things in different manners... How could you leave a Manufacturing Job to join an IT company... I never get the logic of people saying that... IT jobs are repetitive... boring.. nothing much to do...

Hey people wake up an look around there are no such jobs which bring excitement and new things every single day!!!

I worked in manufacturing.. its the same as IT.. nobody does any ground breaking work with extreme use of intelligence every single day.. its a process industry which means people have to follow certain rules and company will function properly... you end up doing 10 meetings a day.. feel all important as you spend the day brainstorming abt issues.. but are you really doing productive work every day?? are you adding to cash registers of the company ??? Not really huh.. at least not everyday... but ya you repeat what you do for a long period of time.. then you are able to effect some change... there is not short cut to achieve improvements in manufacturing...

Now take IT ... I am not saying its ground breaking stuff .. what i am saying is that its the same kind of work... you think.. you work as a team.. sort out problems... and at the end of it.. you have results to show for it...

Its really silly to belittle any work.. i won't agree to anyone who says that manufacturing company is not good place to work.. similarly IT job is nothing lowly to it.. both involves the same basic rules....

coming back to me... well me joined infy..plain and simple.. i was fed up with the place- Gurgaon...period.

for me the basic premises of an ideal job were: Nice work environment (read AC office ;) ), good work culture and a job that gives me an oppurtunity to use my brain... I don't mean Nobel prize earning thinking.. but ya adequate amount of Grey cell usage.... In bothg the companies (both sectors ) i have worked i was lucky enough find what i looked for in a job...

As a very smart person once said... "A JOB IS A JOB IS A JOB"

IT Job Vs Manufacturing Job part 1

When i was younger (lets say 18) i always had the feeling that It was the best profession from me . I always wondered as to why it was so...

at that point in my life there were two places of work that i had seen..

One was the Bhilai Steel Plant.. the mega manufacturing set up where people (read engineers) worked in extreme almost in human conditions, which gave me a constant feeling of restlessness that i might have to end up working in a place like this...

Even as a kid i was more interested in the kind of work place i wanted to be in (later on i learnt abt the jargons of working environment, work culture and all the other nonsense which came to me as a package with my mba degree..!!) but ya i was always awed by the sheer scale of BSP , but didnt really aspire to work there...

The other was bank (wer my mom worked) .. Now that was one thing that really interested me from my childhood.. i used to look forward to my visits to the bank to pick mom home from there... I don't know when the interest for that waned becoz even during my engineering i was considering banking as an option more than an Engineering job... but somehow i didn't clear the bank PO test so that option was tossed out..

This was probably the time i was realizing that IT would be an ideal industry for me.. but these silly companies won't select me !!!!! Now i thought let do an MBA .. not to broaden my job prospects but to find a way to the elusive IT Job :) ...

well mba didnt teach me much except that i got a little more understanding regarding my career... even though me getting into Hero Honda was unexpected as i was desperate to get an IT job !!! anyways i think that was the best thing that had happened to me till now ... I saw that a manufacturing company needn't be a sweat shop (i mean i don't keep sweating due to the heat around :D ) . Fantastic environment to work in.. in a real business ,as the kidlams (its a mallu word for hotshots) i came in contact say !!
